Red Velvet

Have you ever tried a hot cake named "Red Velvet"?? By the name of the cake,we should imagined the color of this cake must be red, does it look yummy?is the taste delicious? is it recommended cake??
Well, my first time ate this cake when my hubby's bday on last June 13, 2012. It becomes his bday cake from office friends. That red velvet came from Harvest (one of the biggest bakery store in Indonesia). Here it is, the display of Harvest's red velvet:

complete with macaroons, strawberry and choco chips
The taste of this red velvet is so delicious, cream cheese melted in your mouth, what a nyummy cake!!
After i've tried this one, there are some bakery stores in town also sell this cake,  one of them is Bread Talk. I think i should try it too, just to make a comparison. It is sold with price Rp. 25.000/ slice, but the display of bread talk's red velvet is different from harvest. It is covered by nut and cherry.
It is nyummy too, but i think the taste of cream cheese isn't delicious enough like Harvest.
I also tried another red velvet from 7th street bakery at Palembang. But I felt a lil bit disappointed with the cake taste. How can? It's because of the cake is sodden, and the taste of cream cheese. I bought this red velvet for my sista's wedding anniversary. price / brass is Rp. 210.000,- .

After i've tried three red velvet from different bakery stores, there are some differences of the cake:
  1. The red color of cake, harvest & bread talk have the same color (dark red  lil), and 7th street bakery isn't (light red).
  2. The cake texture, harvest and bread talk are perfectly baked and & 7th street bakery is sodden.
  3. Main difference of those three red velvet is the taste of cream cheese.
Well, overall, I choose Red Velvet from Harvest as my choice  :D
